Why?

A bit harsh on Lorraine considering she did 5 days a week every week from at least mid Feb until mid July

I’m only going by what I read here. I’m usually out of the house by the time Lorraine is on and she wasn’t my first choice of programming during quarantine.

In that case probably best you don't tune into Jeremy Vine on Radio 2 this week as Vanessa Feltz is sitting in for him. Similarly today The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show has Dermot O'Leary sitting in, Jo Whiley has Anita Rani sitting in, and Vanessa Feltz has Nicki Chapman sitting in.

With all programmes named after the presenter - they will (unsurprisingly) have holidays. So unless you want to rename all of these programmes then there isn't really much that can be done.

I see my post has made me look like a bit of a thicko. Lets delete the last few posts (as i requested please mods) and continue talking about 'Lorraine'

I don’t necessarily think it’s ridiculous but for tv I’ve never liked “self titled shows”, Derbyshire/Lorraine/Kay Burley/Jeremy Vine*. I’d argue all of these formats could be hosted by anyone and actually people like the content more, the presenter is second to the content. Having said this, I understand that presenters can draw people in of course.

*It works in radio - “Vanessa Fletz sitting in for Jeremy Vine” or “Jordan North in for Greg James” works and is a normal occurance. But “It’s time to join Christine on Lorraine” or “This is Kay Burley @ Breakfast, I’m Niall Patterson” just sounds strange.

I don’t think it has. It’s an interesting point you made.
