Tables turned today with surprise guest Emma Forbes practically interviewing presenter Andi Peters!
I haven't seen Andi presenting on TV since his broom cupboard and L&K days. I have to say, he is rather good. Quite the professional, in fact.
And his conversation with Edd the Duck........took us right back as if it were yesterday.
I can't quite believe that they pulled that surprise stunt 2 minutes into his first live studio presenting gig for years. There aren't many presenters who would have coped with that.
Yeah, that was quite a stitch-up within a few minutes, in the nicest way.
I like how Andi was impressed they properly animated the large, high res L&K logo on the videowall! And the chat with Emma was great, I could have listened to them for the full hour.
Emma, John, Mitch, Edd...! They really went to some effort.
She’s a very underused presenter and had a great working relationship with Andi. She only really did L&K and Talking Telephone Numbers. There were rumours at the time that she would be the replacement for Fern on This Morning but that wasn’t to be.

Who knows if we would maybe see a L&K reunion to mark 30 years in 2023? Beat SM:tv to the game after their rumoured reunion.

Emma should have been Gaby on The Big Breakfast, but for her agent pulling her out of hosting the 'beauty parade pilot' for Channel 4 staff with Planet 24 on one screen and the rival made by Central Television on the other one.

From some of the contents Andi has made when guesting on the Chris Moyles show, it seems that he's pitched for This Morning and they've made it clear that it's not going to happen.
Although his success this week might change a few minds.
(Quite why people are surprised that he is doing a decent job is beyond me - as somebody put it on Twitter, he's a TV legend of several decades' standing. And an experienced producer/exec. He's wasted just doing the competition sell)
Andi’s had such a unusual career. He was being tipped once as a future BBC DG. As a C4 exec he came up with the successful T4 strand, and then valiantly tried to revive TOTP, which was already a basket case before he took over. Not sure why he ditched the exec side to then do competitions on GMB (though there’s about 10 years in-between in which I’m not sure what he did, apart from voiceovers on stuff like The Big Reunion on ITV2).
