Why is this woman given so much BBC Daytime airtime?

I can't see any particular talent that she has, that would justify 2 or 3 shows a day?

3 times yesterday. Moneyspinners, Car Booty and Cash in the Attic.

She does appear to have a limited range though - she can only present programmes where people sell old tat at auction. She's clearly good at selling old tat herself .

A few years ago people complained that daytime tv was full of cookery. Then they complained because it was full of DIY. Now there is no cookery (other than Ready Steady Cook) and no DIY. Just selling old tat.

Please, bring back the cookery and DIY. Or anything, really. But not with Lorne Spicer.

So, if previous trends are followed, when does UKTV Old Tat launch, do you think?

The odd thing is that having seen her in various out take shows, she patently detests the whole thing - not least hanging around car parks on Sunday mornings.

Miserable she is.

Looks like Dean Lydiate picked up on Lorne's many shows as the ident into Cash in the Attic had him saying 'now a third outing for Lorne' in a slightly surprised tone getting slightly higher as he reached the end of the statement. It does seem silly having the same presenter on three different programmes all shown on the same day.

The one thing I miss about daytime television is the game show at 12.30 on BBC ONE. There always used to be one until just after the summer holidays last year where we would have something like Through The Keyhole, Wipeout, Eggheads etc. Now it is, like a previous poster said, all antiques programmes and it must be the most boring daytime schedule there has been for several years.

My ideal daytime schedule would be:
06.00-09.00 Breakfast
09.00-10.00 A talk show similar to Kilroy
10.00-10.30 Garden Invaders
10.30-11.00 Cash in the Attic
11.00-11.30 Trading Up
11.30-12.30 A cookery programme
12.00-12.30 Bargain Hunt
12.30-13.00 A game show (Eg. Through The Keyhole, Wipeout etc.)
13.00-13.40 News
13.40-14.05 Neighbours
14.05-14.35 Doctors (or another soap)
14.35-15.20 Murder Mystery
15.20-15.25 News
15.25-17.30 CBBC
17.30-18.00 A repeat of a programme

Indeed, on those outtake shows she really does seem annoyed. I bet she's one of those tv types who is completely different off camera

Does anyone know how BBC1 does against ITV1 in the ratings for their daytime programming? I would imagine ITV1 are miles ahead with This Morning. I don't know one person who watches BBC1 daytime - they all watch This Morning.

I really miss programmes like Wipeout, Through The Keyhole and Passport To The Sun. I used to actually watch BBC1 Daytime when they were on. Why do the powers that be insist on showing us a whole morning of the one type of progamme? Why can't they realise that a mixture would be better?

Actually on topic for a minute, I can't stand Spicer. She's one of the most irritating presenters to ever grace our screens. She was one of the reasons I ditched BBC1.

Too right. From what I have seen on the take out shows she hates the jobs, and watching her in the programme does not seem right as you know she is fed up.

Haven't got figures for the bigger picture but certainly BBC ONE NI beats UTV right the way through daytime, with This Morning trailing very badly in the ratings. Perhaps people in NI have loads of crap they want to sell.

This Morning has apparantly not been doing very well recently since Denise and Richard took over, but I think its usual very close when Fern and Phil are on.

I've caught a little of This Morning this week, and every second was absolutely dreadful. I was cringing as if I was watching The Office, but this was for real.

My parents always have the old tat shows on, God knows why, probably because my Dad seems to have to have the TV on in the background no matter what he's doing.

Lorne Spicer gets on everybody's nerves though, sometimes my Mum does switch the TV off all together when Lorne appears on Cash in the Attic, instead of the bloke she likes (he's a bit like Ben Fogle, who she also likes).
