This is something I have always wanted to know, but was kinda afraid to ask.

I saw a James Bond film recently, filmed in the late 60's, I reckon, and the titles had fading white text for the credits of the film (you know the style).

How was this achieved? No computer technology would have been available to generate them.

How were captions and slides generated before computer technology?

Why is your name in the thread title? What point is there to that?

because it's Lord Wellington's thread.

I take it you don't look at Metrobosoms then.

Not really, I've been a few times but found some of the clear multiple usernames both tiresome and irritating.

I still don't see why this thread is titled in this way - it almost adds to the juvenile air that's been running through here of late.

Kelly, please keep this thread on topic - I asked a perfectly reasonable question.

If you don't know the answer to it, please keep your foolish ramblings to yourself.

Thank you please

Now Excuse me for having some basic common sense here, but if there was no PC type systems then things like the TV wouldn't be here really. Technically all the broadcast equipment is in some shape or form of IT equipment thus even the most basic equipment could generate fading text or what not.

I wouldn't bother, I said exactly the same thing at Metropol and got exactly the same response from Mr Wellington.

As I asked you earlier, please do not refer to me by my real name.

I pulled this off-topic for a very valid reason.

Do any moderators want to come in at this point, or are we going to get the usual weak TV Forum response to this?

Any hope of a Before Lord Wellington thread?

You never know your luck.

Can you not see, Lord Wellington, the amount of ill-feeling you are creating towards yourself here?

You are clearly intent on taking over both TV Forum and Metropol with you inane, self-centred ramblings - and God help anyone who doesn't like this.

This has been coming for weeks - but on behalf of the collective audiences of both websites, will you please SOD OFF.

I'd appriciate some backup here, guys.

Lord Wellington does it on purpose. He knows people don't like it, so each time he posts, he'll add another little annoyance to his post.
