Did anyone who watched the BAFTAs tonight think Lord Richard Attenborough didn't seem too well? He sounded fairly croaky I think... but then again you don't see him that often so it's hard to tell what he's usually like.

He is getting on a bit though. 82 years old apparently.

I thought Lord Attenborough looked very well for his age. He did seem a bit restless with his speech but he always has been softly spoken.

More to the point, what about poor old 85 year-old Peter Sallis (voice of Wallace)? He's looking very frail.

Surely we can't have anymore series of Last of the Summer Wine! Yes, that may sound heartless to many but it really hasn't been the same since Foggy and Compo left.

Yes, I must say that Peter Sallis caught my attention rather than Lord Attenborough. It was a bit of a shock to see him look so frail compared to how he has been in the recent past. It was difficult to imagine him actually in the role of Wallace in the condition he seemed to be in.

Lord Attenborough lost his 14-year-old granddaughter, daughter Jane and her mother-in-law in last years tsunami. So i wouldn't be surprised if he is looking a little frail. Peter Sallis looked -and sounded like - he was on his last legs. I cant believe he's still up to filming even a slow show like LOTSW.

He was a guest on the ITV News Channel last year when there was that fire at the Aardman Animations warehouse in Bristol and he was in a bad way then.

He was talking about how he couldn't even read the scripts and had to have each line fed to him.

I watched Peter Sallis and Lord Attenborough on the South Bank Show awards, and Lord Attenborough looked fine, but Peter Sallis did indeed look ill. He spoke quite clearly, but barely looked alive when he was walking on stage.

I hate it when such things happen. It just shows how mortal we are.
