Only just. Loose Women there might be an argument for considering two of their main anchors fill in on other shows over the summer, but considering how much they struggled even to fill the hour lost by Jeremy Kyle it would be very dumb now to pull This Morning over the summer. I suspect too even if they still had a summer break they'd have been a strong case this year for them to continue throughout the summer given the circumstances.
I imagine ITV has concluded it’s easier and cheaper to just run This Morning and Loose Women all year round than commissioning programmes that may drag the slot and share average if they underperform
It's a shame they don't talk about anything of any importance now. The topics are just so silly recently. And a waste of the intelligence and journalistic skills of Janet, Ranvir, Kaye, etc.
Today's first half was a blatant promo for an ITV show airing tonight. Then a competition promo film. Then interviewing a Love Island contestant about her Twitter follower struggles.
2 days later and another Love Island 'celebrity' interview today...
Stacey in the anchor role today (for 17 seconds). I get the feeling she doesn’t like it.
I suppose reading the autocue for 17 seconds is easy enough. It’s all the other doings of live tv that make it difficult.
For perspective, Denise and Andrea staged a fake walk-out from the panel, leaving Stacey alone to cope with the wrap of a segment. The point being made was that if the government presses ahead with the stay at home rule for the over 50’s, Loose Women will be presented by all of them from their homes, or by only Stacey, Saira, Judi and Ranvir from the studio.
Forgive me for perhaps wrongly assuming the age of some other panelists.
