I noticed on wide shots yesterday that they’ve now added blue lights behind the set to light up the black curtain, somebody is adamant that there must be a form of blue background curtain.
Very well done. The edit from opening to closing titles makes it look like he had nothing to say, which after over an hour of questions could be argued to be true.
I wonder what will happen with the show over Summer. I'm guessing they might keep the format of recording two live shows and three pre-recorded shows a week until September?
But at the minute it's Christine, Andrea and Ruth anchoring. With Ruth doing This Morning presumably over Summer, surely they can't just have Christine & Andrea for the 6/7 weeks. Kaye, the other anchor and then Coleen, the cover anchor have both been doing live links from home so I'm guessing they won't be able to? Maybe Jane or Nadia who have guest anchored over the last couple of years?
I don't see why they couldn't have two anchors, especially if only recording on two days. Depends though if Lorraine is doing "GMB with Lorraine".
Frankly though summer is cancelled this year so it remains to be seen what happens - I doubt the usual suspects will be taking as long a break as usual.
The thing is, I suspect their Summer break is written into their contracts. So they don't have do it. There would have to be an agreement with Holly, Phil and ITV together should they wish to.
Somehow I suspect they might not bother, or they may opt to do a few Fridays maybe to lessen the load given usual cover may be harder to come by and Richard and Judy will likely be shielding at home so I think we won't be seeing them for the rest of the year.
Lorraine does seem as if she might power on through the Summer. Though with peoples attitudes towards lockdown progressively becoming more relaxed, Lorraine might decide to take the Summer break given she forfeited Easter and May half terms. That way if she does, I suspect we might just see a return of GMB Today or just have GMB with Ranvir, Charlotte or Christine.
Then Loose Women becomes a problem if Christine and Ruth are taken up. Most of them have anchored before on the odd occasion though so I shouldn't think it would be too much of a problem for them.
Yes, I thought GMB Today might return in place of GMB with Lorraine. I suspect Lorraine returning to her usual studio may be pencilled in for September and Loose Women won't be able to remain in Studio 1 forever either. Possible when they do return to their shared space it may be with much more of a shared set so they don't have to change much between the shows.
A shared set would be a lot easier without the need to consider the audience, which could be a long way from making a return. I’ve often wondered if they could keep the lorraine screens, and insert the loose women desk & podium in the place of Lorraine’s seating area.

That makes sense actually. If ITV had 1 studio for its entire morning schedule save for GMB it would be cheaper and potentially a lot safer (obviously there would be precautions in place)

Far more likely is Lorraine and Loose Women sharing a set in TC2, since it would allow rehearsals to take place for This Morning and reduce the need for scenery moves which are challenging whilst social distancing.
