I'm surprised it's taking them this long to organise something over Skype...
EXCLUSIVE: #LooseWomen is to return to screens very soon, as ITV plan to return new episodes to their daytime schedule.
Producers are currently exploring options such as pre-recording episodes and/or having the women chat over Skype. #ThisMorningpic.twitter.com/8Q8saiB5A0
For the last week or so The View has had Whoopi host from home, with occasional Skype contributions from Joy Behar & Meghan McCain while Sunny Hostin and Sara Haines co-host from the studio.
Looking like a Brady Bunch revival.
However yesterday it was just Whoopi, Sunny and Sara all hosting from their own homes. Whoopi seems to have a professional set up while Sunny and Sara appear to be on Skype but using lapel mics to help the sound quality.
I think prerecording would be the best option given they’ve done it before on several occasions. The filming at home option could also work given they did as an online exclusive last week
Prerecording (in the studio) would just be as logical as broadcasting it LIVE without an audience, like they were doing recently.
Or, is there another intention in prerecording (such as remotely from home or whatever) that avoids studio involvement?
Genuine question.
Prerecording episodes to build-up a bank of shows is fine in the current circumstances. They could probably do three a day.
However, prerecording in the current climate is also tricky, given the fast-moving situation and, therefore, suitability for broadcast for something that may be just a couple of weeks old, but no longer suitable.......if you get my point.
Today's was Harry and Meghan quitting the Royal family, so just a few months.
They kind of have exactly the same issue now as they had when Jeremy Kyle was axed - they just haven't really got enough variety in the daytime schedule to bring in something to fill a spare hour when it's needed. As someone else said putting Supermarket Sweep into the slot for four weeks would surely be worth a try - and they only had at most 6 customers in the store at any one time.

I'm not sure they could air Supermarket Sweep as it was an ITV2 commission and made by Thames/Fremantle so it may be the case that the contract they agreed allows them to repeat it on ITV2 but any ITV airing would be subject to negotiation which may not be worth it for just a four week run.
Any production company is going to take cash where they can at the moment and frankly the series didn't hold its audience that well last year, so anything to boost the chance of a recommission is in the interests of Thames/Fremantle.

Today’s programme (a repeat) has already been aired (as a repeat) a week or so ago. Why are they repeating this, when there’s so many more episodes they could have aired instead?🤔🤷♂️
