Ghost from the past.

Panelists never seem to leave Loose Women for long.

It's the X Factor of daytime.

Jane Moore, Ricki Lake, Carol McGiffin and Kelle Bryan were today’s panel. Jane in the anchor seat. She’s good.

Ricki Lake’s appearance came as a bit of a surprise.

Jane's done it a few times, I wonder if Ricki was doing Loose Women as a guest panelist to test the waters for doing either The View or The Talk in the future?

It sounded like it was last minute - as Jane mentioned it was supposed to be Andrea anchoring, but that she was sick. - hence why Ricki got a call as a guest panellist.

Whoops! An unhappy panel today. You could feel the simmering tensions between some of them. The returning Chizzy had a real go at Ruth, in fact.

Chizzy did seem to rub everyone up the wrong way today. Jane and Ruth tried to engage, but really didn't get anywhere and Coleen sat in silence, keeping well out of it (I don't blame her!).

As it was her first appearance for some time, I couldn't help but wonder if she was trying to prove herself to get back on the panel permanently and was stirring things up a bit.

It was clear they'd already had a row about the subject of Harry & Meghan in the production meeting, and Ruth failed as a moderator to keep that from being apparent.

Personally, I find the "if they don't like it they can stop taking our tax money" a weak argument when it comes to rough treatment of the royals and one that Jane has used repeatedly. I also found Ruth trivialising anxiety bewildering considering ITV's mental health campaign.

Ruth tends to be quite single minded in some topics whereas I think the other anchors tend to be a bit more neutral.

Coleen actually started the debate and made some comments (personal opinion) which both Ruth and Jane disagreed with and - for the most part - one of them continued to speak over Coleen when she was trying to explain her reasoning. She then decided to stop speaking and let them get on with it.

As ever, Coleen’s comedic interjections saved the day in the end and calmed things down later on when needed.

Some of the arguments put forward yesterday by one member just weren’t put across in the right way, and it disintegrated.

Loved it! We need to see more of them being themselves.

The interview of Gina Miller (mostly by Jane) was one of the best political interviews of the day, in fact!

Loose would do well to get a political figure on every day (like The View) in the run up to the election, as long as either Ruth and/or Jane Moore, Kaye Adams, Christine Lampard or JSP is on the panel. To properly take them to task. (Or Gloria, for that matter).
