Sort of. She's not really that big over here though these days.
She never really was - well her show wasn't anyway. Has it been on terrestrial TV since it's days on C4 - and that's going back a long time as they replaced it with Ricki Lake, and that's got to be at least 20 years ago.
It's not been on Channel 4 from what I can remember, I only remember it on BBC Two although I was very young so may have that wrong. Ricki Lake was always on Channel 4 from as long as I could remember, but Oprah's show went to Channel 5 when it launched.
Pretty sure it was ITV 2 for a bit or maybe Living later on.

Yes, Oprah first appeared on Channel Four in the late eighties (she's on there on One Day In The Life Of Television). In 1994, I think, Sky nabbed the first run rights but BBC2 had the first terrestrial rights, but C4 still had a stockpile of episodes so for about six months she was on BBC2, C4 and Sky One with different shows. They didn't run them head-to-head, though, I think C4 showed Oprah on Mondays and BBC2 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

How many people do they need?
Is it a trial and error experiment to the moment. I can't imagine that they want or need to keep 4 main presenters that rotate.
There might be a fifth presenter in the pipeline, and each presenter's day has a specific focus?
That's not a bad idea. I believe they should make it more current affairs based, rather than a bunch of women sitting around trying to be funny... and failing miserably. They hardly ever talk about the topic, just some of their 'stories'.

I'm surprised no one has bought the rights to The View in the UK.

I think one of the former Granada Sky Broadcasting channels acquired the rights in the nineties? Either Talk TV or Good Life.

As in to remake it for the UK audience. No need to really considering the format isn't exclusive to them - channels just create their own version.
Do we know how Loose Women is rating now compared to September - have the changes so far boosted ratings at all?
