A step backwards if you ask me, judging from that photo. However from the image it seems like they're working with a smaller space and obviously they're dealing with the added limitations of sharing with Lorraine. I'll reserve proper judgement until I see it on screen though. Hoping to be pleasantly surprised with how it appears on TV.
The panellists are going to have to turn a bit more extremely to face each other when compared to the current semi circular desk. The new one is more elliptical it seems.
However, I do like the new look. Very nice indeed and I'm sure even better when lit.
I have to agree with JKo8, it looks different but less good than the previous two sets of Loose Women. Obviously, the lighting and camera shots make a big difference though and we'll have to wait until it is on air to really get a proper idea.
Suppose, so long as the public don't dislike it too much, they'll get used to it so long as the panellists and content are good.
the new set looks like an evolution of the previous, which is good as the current design is still fresh 4 years later and has ‘dated’ well. The background reminds me of the performance area of the Blue/Pink sets of LW in the late 00’s.
I appear to be the only one who really isn't a fan based on that picture. Considering they're doing the pilots in the next couple of days and that image was uploaded today, I would presume it is pretty much there although obviously lighting changes a set completely. There is, of course, the possibility that this is only part of the set as the photo appears to have been taken from a balcony, there is little space for the audience if that is the only part & the camera is pointing the other direction. I'm hopeful that there's more to see and I'll reserve judgement til Monday but at the moment I'm not a fan.
I'm surprised people think it's a smaller set. When you look at the person sitting at the desk to get a sense of scale, it's a lot bigger than the table they use now, and that LW is far taller than the projection screen on the current set.
I think maybe people are thrown by the illusion of the camera dwarfing the desk because it's a lot closer to the person taking the photo.
