What's ironic is that Ruth is at the helm today with today's protect, just like Eamonn was hosting the Lottery when Fathers4Justice protested last time.
The Holmes/Langford clan seem to attract these types of live protests! Difference is that they never appeared on camera and Sarah Cawood wasn't at hand to chuck them off and tell them to get lost!
I'm amazed in this current climate that protesters were able to invade the studio.
What can they do? Fence in the audience?
Unless all TV programmes are pre-recorded or live and take place in studios with no one from the public present then it's always a risk, albeit a small one
They were effectively 'sleepers' before the protest started. No one would have been the wiser.
It is a lot easier than you'd realise, and I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.
Apply for tickets, get them, get in (after the usual e-ticket check at the gate) sit there and behave until 'the signal'.
Apart from the 'crash to caption/ break' there actually is very little the studio floor team can do.
No doubt measures will be put in place - stronger checks before getting into the building, or running the show with a minor delay, more security on the studio floor during Tx, but, if determined, it is easy with the right show to do this sort of thing.

I'm sure I remember seeing episodes of Strike It Rich whereby there was a barricade at the bottom of the steps where the audience was. I don't think I've ever seen that on any other show.

There was a small gate I remember that from the opening shot. However it wouldn't take much for someone to hop over it.
