I preferred the outline too.

I like that they warmed up the lighting. It looked like a football ground before. Now they dont look like cadavers on set.
But....
That desk is all kinds of wrong. It could have been way more subtle. The logo is way too large. It would have been nicer if it were a bit smaller or the complete logo instead of just the letters and it reversed out in one colour and had a nice warm back glow. I think the problem is with the font choice. It kind looks wonky. Plus having one letter lighter than the other emphasizes the font weights are completely different. They should have given the letters logo the same equal amount of "air" on all sides of the desk. OR...just pop a nice screen in the center and loop the logo graphic and paint splotches. The View desk has brushed metal letters and a milky coloured panel and its back lit with a nice warm glow. Not to keen on the wood. But this update keeps the signature semi-oval shape from season one.

A couple of simple fixes I would make to the LW set. I would axe the logo and full-screen paint splotch graphic/logo. Instead I would use a pre-recorded "live" beauty shot of London skyline on the big screen. Remove the centre "Chinese screen/French door element (ugh), leave the white frames and pop-in 2 big LCDs and stack them on end and continue the beauty shot of the London skyline across. So the ladies look like they are in a bigger space visually. Something about those brown panels I dont like. I'd give them a subtle whitewash. Just to brighten them up a bit. The ladies chairs are fine. But the village hall folding chairs...ugh. Simple slip covers fix that problem. Not sure those glaring white "fences" on either side of the centre aisle. Maybe something a bit less glaring. I would get rid of the brown boards or at least reconfigurate them around the big center monitor. Those white stripe light boxes slotted in the side brown board walls could be overlayed with duratrans of the "paint splotch" graphic to bring that colour and element around the studio.
The opening camera shot needs just one more element. They get the audience sweep with the jib, but then it should switch to another shot of the ladies walking through the door and and moving toward the desk then back to jib and then sweep down toward the middle. It just looks odd to sweep over then stop.
It could work, it just needs some refinements in the budget they are working with. Still needs help with those topics though.

Yet again, another big long winded post comparing stuff to America.

It was a pre recorded interview, shame the sofa hasn't got an area of the set.
And now, we have a Sofa!
Jamelia and Janet not on... Just Ruth and Colleen on the Sofa chatting to Roger Moore!

Here's one big cultural difference between the US and the UK - we don't like being told things are coming from London unless there is a clear reason for it. Even subtly. There is a big divide between the north and south of the UK, and even between the south and London.
While the US may like a big "live" shot of New York, in the UK a "live" shot of London would likely result in many people complaining about London bias or even switching off.
