Why can't itv just move the lunchtime news back to 12.30.

I expect there is sound business logic for ITV where the news is scheduled.

ITV Daytime exists to sell airtime to advertisers wanting to reach 'hassled mums' and housewives. That is their core demographic. ITV's scheduling decisions will be based on holding on to that demographic for the longest period possible. Unlike BBC One, the news will be the weak part of the ITV daytime schedule. Coming out of This Morning into the news is a sure way to lose that core demographic who probably wouldn't bother coming back at 1pm.

Which is why they moved the ITV News to 1.30 in the first place and why it has stayed there ever since, granted Loose Women isn't getting the ratings it once had, but from 2pm-6pm ITV are doing well, if isn't broke, why fix it?

Not really before that lunchtime news was on for one full hour 12.30 - 13.30.

It was and it didn't work, hence why the hour long Lunchtime News only lasted 16 months, I don't like it being on at 1.30pm, but it works better for ITV and the audience doesn't drop that much after This Morning.

I just don't buy it, I still believe Losse woman might do alot better 1-2pm.

Talk is easy, you don't have millions of pounds riding on it. ITV have obviously had more brains on it than any of us and more to lose.

So why does loses woman rate so poorly in its current slot?

To be fair, it's one of those 'Big Breakfast' situations. It did so well at one point (not so much at launch it has to be said), the only thing anyone can do is compare its ratings to that.

With loose women I feel it started off really well and they discussed more current affairs stuff the last time I watched it was all who slept with who and how many men Janice had been with. I can't be bothered with that.

It feels as though they change the logo and set every two seconds and I don't think it has ever resulted in better ratings - for me it seems a massive waste of cash.

I'm not suggesting they ditch the show but I'm hoping rebrand 2000 is one that secures the show. Any one got the promo - someone mentioned theme music?

In the past the set and logo has changed no more than every two series. This will be the second re-brand and studio re-design since Jan this year but the last re-fresh was done because they wanted to take the show in a new direction and they were trying out different things. Now they know where they want to go the studio is having another re-design to reflect the new direction.

I think this is the death knoll for Loose Women. I think the changes that were made late 2012 have really turned the show for the worse.

They've got rid of the most famous faces and turned it into a show that is very dull with either bimbos, airheads or middle class post-menopausal women, which probably 75% of ITV's demographic at that time of the day cannot relate to. Bringing in Judy Finnigan and Penny Lancaster will only make this worse.

I don't think it ever actually has done "well" - it struggled at the outset and the "Live Talk" rebrand didn't help and I'm pretty sure it was axed at one point too with a lengthy break before it returned. It used to do better granted and well enough for it's position to be secure, but I think the constant changes over the last couple of years don't do the show any favours.
