The new set is certainly an improvement, the previous set should never have even made it past the initial pitch let alone on screen. The graphics are a little tacky, but probably suit the program quite well.

Loose Women is shamelessly tacky. I heard them bragging that they'll have made it 20 years on air this year when I tuned in for a few minutes to see the new look.
I suppose if you can still get away with it and make money why not.
Only three of the hosts walked down the stairs today, with Gloria seated already. They cut to her as her name was announced and she waved at the camera. Worked quite well.
Also the font appears to have changed to a light version of what was used in the previous look (Avant Garde?):

Maybe Gloria couldn't manage the stairs? They made a comment on air saying they could do with a handrail on the stairs on yesterday's show.
I didn't really have an issue with the last set, it was just that shocking insipid green/red colour scheme that somehow was chosen. They could have just updated the lighting to pink/blue and it would have been a vast improvement. The new colours themselves are still too garish for my liking.
The new desk looks a bit naff. The LEDs haven't been well hidden so you can see them shining out and make it look a bit cheap. Looks a bit Channel 5 for some reason. I don't know why they don't just do-away with the desk all together and have informal sofas/chairs instead (like This Morning). Would fit the relaxed friendly informal tone of the show better if they were sat on sofas anyway. The View used sofas for a while and it worked well, but the desk better fits that show as they often do more political chats/interviews.
Did prefer the large screen behind the desk from previous sets too. But overall, definite improvement!
I'm not blown away with this new set, or the graphics. Anything's an improvement from the previous set, but this still pales in comparison to the final TLS set if you ask me.
The purple/blue colour scheme seems amateurish to me, don't ask me why. And the set just seems to be a whole lot of nothing. Those two 'screens' above the desk look silly. It would have made much more sense to me to place a large screen/rear projection central to the desk, like the TLS set.
I also think it's a shame they scrapped the September 2014 music a while back. The old/current theme has always bugged me and the 2014 music seemed a tad more sophisticated. Then again, the show has had so many high-brow (in comparison) and low-brow phases, the original theme probably better suits the current incarnation.
They explained on air that Gloria's sciatica has flared up.
There was another whinge about the stairs too so I expect we'll see an alternative entrance before long. They remind me of the Knowing Me Knowing You With Alan Partridge stairs which were deliberately designed (by Dennis DeGroot) to look uncomfortable to walk down.
Seems a little odd to have Gloria sitting down on her own while the others are waiting to walk down the stairs. Couldn’t they have just started it with them all sitting at the desk?
