I know that many hated the updated theme tune, but the look of the show with the opened up set with screen, tall task, logo and the voice over worked very well imo.

This was my favourite theme and set they've had, since the move to the new studio I feel it's gone downhill.

Loose Women should take a leaf out of ABC The View’s book.
They have a great set, great graphics, intro, theme and have a newsier format than Loose Women.

The View is a perfect example of how over-the-top so many American programmes are, it all just comes across as fake and false in my opinion. There are some things from a television perspective that America does better, but I don't think Loose Women should try to turn into The View too much.

As I've mentioned before, I think if they're going to look to the US, this set up would work with the space they've got:

*

Just a couple of rows in front and tiered seating behind.

If they were clever they could share the back wall of the set with Lorraine and just add the seating and table for Loose Women.

Gosh I forgot how much I hated that set. Give me the current set over that one any day! But i do like that open, but I prefer it when the anchor does it.

Wow I've heard alot of things about the View but the women are "fake and false" certainly is an accusation I've never heard. Could be because there is only limited exposure to the show globally? But their arguments and discussions are anything but real to me. Especially in this polarized climate surround US politics.

I'm not sure Newsroom24 levelled that allegation directly at the co-hosts. Generallly there's a particularly glossy shine to The View which some could easily perceive as fake. The likes of The Talk and The Wendy Williams Show appear far more down to earth.

Just clocked this on the closing credits for today's episode.

Former Deputy Editor of This Morning, Vivek Sharma, has joined the LW editorial team from This Morning - as Editor, alongside current editor Sally Shelford.

Loose Women does seem to be a good stepping stone as the current editor of
This Morning Martin Frizell was editor of Loose Women beforehand

I have never seen such a hilarious shift in tone half way through that introduction, and then an equally hilarious shift back.

‘Loose Women’ should be more like ‘The View’ (and newsier) is one of the most perennial things said on this forum. Up there with that imminent rebranding of UTV to ITV. Both statements are far of the mark!

Loose Women goes through a cycle of trying to go newsier, ratings fall, end up going trashier, ratings go up, new editor decides they want to go newsier, ratings fall etc etc. They need to just stay trashy.
bazinga, tightrope78 and Newsroom24 gave kudos

Perhaps - now that they're going through one of their upmarket phases - Channel 5 could buy the rights to The View and run a daily UK version on the main channel, plus air the US version on 5USA.

Or they could just nick the format and come up with a different name.
