Kyle must have a similar budget to This Morning, considering how much drug rehabs cost among the team of counsellors, the use of contact centres, lie detectors and cosmetic surgery that is offered on the show?

As much as Kyle is detested, he's stabilised that slot.

I think it's safe to say that a live daily show has a far bigger budget than something which records in blocks.

Was it ever a particularly unstable slot? From memory, The Time The Place, Vanessa and Trisha all performed solidly.

For their next set they could do a lot worse than look at Megyn Kelly Today, which is in the round, but the majority of the audience in rows in front. I know Megyn's studio is a lot bigger than LW, but a scaled down version could work well.

Very good suggestion, and strangely something that they could achieve by switching the desk and lower sofas around in the current set and having the higher tier audience behind them (question of sport, last leg style).

I see they have “solidified” the lower portions of the desk, somewhat. No longer as translucent as it used to be.

Not sure if it’s only to accommodate the recent appearance of Sooty which, for obvious reasons, would have been a tad tricky with Perspex!

I think it might damage Loose Women viewing figures more if Collen Nolan doesn't return - the loyal core audience sympathy was more with her than Kim Woodburn

Yet neither of those formats lasted 18 years consistently.

The incorrect BBC News logo in the background is interesting - for once, it doesn't appear to be from The Gallery.

Plus, their Series Director Richard Jack appears to have left the show - as they've been using John Adams and Jo Johns as their Studio Directors (who covered when Jack wasn't available) for the past two months.

Have noticed that former Countdown director Derek Hallworth is now being credited as the show's new Series Director, having directed some episodes since last year.

He's been Mastermind's director for well over a decade, too.

A 12 month contract to direct Loose Women was advertised a couple of weeks ago. I don't know if that process has concluded yet.

**EDIT https://www.gorkanajobs.co.uk/job/82648/loose-women-studio-director-12-month-ftc/ It only closed 5 days ago**

Well, they did - but as mentioned a few weeks ago, when Trisha ended very abruptly there was every chance that ITV could have collapsed in that slot as they did at 5pm when they contrived to lose Home and Away. So they tried a few things out at 9.25 but Kyle pretty much worked straight away and it took over permanently.
