Hardly a new panelist

Carol McGriffin? She's never been on before. Never ever.

Whereas the comments on social media are probably nasty and not nice, it's a very bad step for her and her management to maintain that her words are getting misrepresented and it's for this reason she's having to pull out of her upcoming work commitments.

This is just highlighting her distress and how it's affected her and trying to make people to feel sorry for her. Whereas I feel it's having the opposite effect.

The words she said are out there black and white and she still maintains that she 'didn't say anything' as per her This Morning interview.

She needs to ignore the social media comments and offer a direct apology to Kim and acknowledge the comments that her (and her sister) did say. Otherwise failing this, the public backlash towards her is very much likely to continue.

I wonder if her tour dates have been poor? or it was pulled to allow the air to be cleared before tours restart?

Considering she came off social media a long time ago (and frequently mentions it on the show), it's an odd thing to blame.

Perhaps sales have been poor for her tour, it was certainly an ambitious project.

In other news, Jonathan Ross "took over" the show today and the set looked so much better with different lighting.

She's been on almost 1200 times according to Wikipedia...

Ticket sales have not been great, apparently.

It wasn't all Colleens fault. The other panellists were worse

So I thought I'd chip in and wade my two pence into the Coleen/Kim debacle: I watched the interview several times - and it came across as wholeheartedly uncomfortable and deeply disturbing to watch. It was one of those moments where the interview should have been halted or they should have had another anchor in place of Coleen - such as Andrea or Kaye, for example.

It didn't help with Linda Nolan - and I'm glad that Coleen has decided to step down from the show - for what I presume is an permanent hiatus. She really needs to apologise to Kim for that - but doubt that will happen. While I'm not a fan of Coleen full stop and agree that her stepping down for an X amount of time/permanently is a wise move, I definitely don't agree with the disgusting death threats/social media comments she has received as a result. Online trolling/bullying from keyboard warriors has no place for the internet.

Perhaps when Ofcom give their ruling on the debacle, Loose Women will give a statement or on-air apology about it (although it should have been sooner) - and maybe they will discuss Coleen's hiatus tomorrow? The show needs to have its knuckles wrapped as a result - and I hope that the show doesn't attempt something like this again.

Moving away from that - on a presentational (is that a word?) note - I have noticed for the past few weeks they've changed the intro to the show now. They've gone from the anchor introducing the show/topics standing up - then panelists coming from the sides.

Now, the anchor introduces the panel sitting down at the desk, who come in from all entrances or from one entrance if entering as a group (to the show's theme or to music), then the topics are introduced. Wonder who changed the intro?

Plus, their Series Director Richard Jack appears to have left the show - as they've been using John Adams and Jo Johns as their Studio Directors (who covered when Jack wasn't available) for the past two months.

Changes to the intro:

Before the tweaked intro back in mid August:

The two versions they now use after mid August's tweak:

Panel enter via the entrance behind the audience:

Wednesday 1st August looks best. The entrance with their names behind them on the screens looks so much slicker than the other two examples.

Can they not go back to how they did it when the show began and have a voiceover introduce all 4 panellists and then run titles?

I look at that 20 years on and think that things have slipped, set design, theme, the use of titles were all better back then. The logo has improved (but the original was changed quite early on). That set looked lovely and cosy imo.

I agree. They need to utilise all 3 entrances more, however.
