Bosses at ITV Day have said that Loose Woman is currently being 'rested' for six months but will come back next year in a new format.

Familiar face, Kay Adams, will still host the show, but gone is Carol McGiffin, Jane MacDonald amongst the others. In comes 'journalists' and the show will be aimed at the 'student, unemployed and housewives'.

Loose Women will also have a set change, graphic change and theme tune change as it is 'dated'.

Can't be THAT dated as both RTE and Network 7 have just bought the rights to broadcast it over there!

BBC Broadcast are rumoured to be doing the new title sequence.

Hmm......

Has a new look with each series doesn't it? The last was too 'grown-up' for the programme I think.

It is also the only programme that I can think of that has been made at Manchester, Norwich and London throughout its history, with different sets each time, most notable the dressed up ex-London Tonight set.

I think it was originally called "Loose Women" for one or two runs. Then it pointlessly changed to being called "Live Talk" - for only one series I think - then back to "Loose Women" ever since.

It does seem to have always had a TOTAL overhaul (of studio set and title sequence/logo) virtually EVERY new series! Rolling Eyes

I don't think the theme tune's ever changed (apart from "remixing" the same tune), with the possible exception of the "Live Talk" period.

One particular run was seemingly in the ex-London Tonight studio, with the real window overlooking the Thames etc. But, partway into that run, the backdrop changed to a "cardboard" one, bearing a painting of the same skyline.

This suggests that they possibly moved to a window-less studio, mid-series. I wonder why?

What do you lot want to see in the titles?

I'd like to see them inside a cage and they're trying to get out.But at the end they jump out and the logo flies in.Well i'd like a cage in there somewhere anyway so that they ARE loose women!

BTW,has anyone got the theme tune or sets of titles?I don't want rm,ram or zip files.

Getting rid of Carol, Jane, Coleen, etc!!

Especially as they're doing it for journalists. It sounds as though they're going to make the programme more serious, which I don't think it needs. There was nothing wrong with the programme when it ended this year, I didn't really like the set and titles, but it was still the same old programme.

I remember Jane McDonald singing Sandie Shaw's There's Always Something There To Remind Me at the end of the last series - kind of a good finale.
