OK its not originally a UK show, but the Dutch are finally making their own version of The Price Is Right which starts on SBS6 tomorrow...

and this one, below, well no need as to mention what this is an adaptation of...... (its too easy to guess)

looks as though SBS6 are actually pushing the boat out with new home-grown programmes for a change - although Corrie is still an early afternoon show and still quite a few years behind us.

It only taken then 50 years to get Price is right but its nice to see Doc Martin in ducth Wink

But of course there nothing wrong with a foreign soap in the afternoons, I bet most people would love Shortland street back on itv.

There's already been Dutch versions of TPIR, the one I remember seeing in the days of analogue satellite "Prijzenslag" which ran in the early 1990s on RTL 4 (which sometimes showed this and "Rad van Fortuin" unscrambled!) and had a very similar in set design to Germany's "Der Preis ist Heiß".

According to Wikipedia, this is the fourth Dutch version in 25 years.

Can I ask why this familiarity is noteworthy? There have been several international versions of The Price is Right... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_price_is_right#International_versions

There's apparently more remakes of American/British classics coming to Dutch television:

I think this thread should highlight little known international versions of some our UK favourites.

The Irish Millionaire with telly legend Gay Byrne didn't last long.

I doubt RTE could afford it now. Apparently the contestant was an RTE employee.

Saw a massive advert for that in Rembrandtplein, in Amsterdam, on Friday morning and I think it started within the last week as I have seen messages, on FB, about it!
