Also there's a feature about the new series in The Times' TV magazine today!
Looks very promising doesn't it? I especially love the opening titles.
I also saw a trail for it at the weekend which included the old, stripey, orange BBC2 logo forming up. It seemed to have been sped up though. Hopefully that was just for the purposes of the trail. It'd be nice to see some authentic vintage presentation tonight.
Watched the DVD yesterday looking forward to series 2.
From the trailers it looks like the format of series 2 will be different, being more of a parody of a Tomorrow's World type show than schools television.
I was really disappointed with tonight's show; it just didn't match the attention to detail and the writing in Series 1. I'd wondered if it would stretch to a half hour format - it struggled I think.
Most of the graphics seemed wrong, they looked too "clean" / 3D and obviously done on a modern computer. In Series 1, they'd got all the graphics etc spot on. Of course it was nice to see =2= though!
I thought the writing was awful; it lacked the depth or subtlety of series 1 - it could've been done by my old school mates and me when we were 12.
Well, not as good as the first series? I think there was too much concentration on the music 2000 thing really, and I hope future episodes are better joke-wise and in thier attention to the science side of things. Still, the 'knock-knock, go out' joke was laugh-out-loud funny and I think it's obviously quite hard to do this kind of comedy in a different format from the 'Experiment' style.
to be honest i found it quite funny espacially the woman that saying "i just don't know!" i quite liked the 2 ident as well. keep up the good work BBC!
