From the roof of the university? (I'm from Hull too, and the unis are tall buildings!)

I didn't see today's Lunchtime programme, but well done anyway Katherine!

It doesn't look like Peter will be on the main programme tonight, as he was on at Breakfast!

Talking about people presenting loads of bulletins, Calendar's Faye Barker did the Late bulletin at 11.15pm last night, and then was back doing the GMTV bulletins from 6.35am in the morning!!

I'm not sure why, but for some reason at the end of tonight's Calendar, Gaynor tried to chop a table in half.

And it didn't work, which might be one for Denis Nordan!

I can get Radio Leeds all the way over here in Hull. It's a bit fuzzy but it's not too bad if I adjust the ariel. I can get it really well when I'm in Manchester too.

You can? How? Do you have a twenty foot mast?

I've tried but can't get anything further away than b****ing BBC Lincolnshire.

I know what you mean. It's like a dead area round here. even my reception of BBC Linconshire and BBC York is terrible.

My ariel's a long wire thing which I have to position on the wall with blue tack in just the right position to get it. Reception overalls not brilliant but you can just about listen to it. Reception varies depending on on things like whether theres anybody in next door and things like that.

Deary, deary. The things people will do to listen to Peter Levy.

I guess you'd probably get some form of reception on the Princes Quay roof top car park too? Must try that some time.

At 1:15 today when they did the second Look North headlines, Paul joined in to promote the weather (didn't catch the beginning to see if he was on then too). Is that new, I haven't seen it before.

Yes - I'm surprised noone else has mentioned the fact that the One now has a regional promo at 15 minutes past... bit silly if you ask me - with a 15 minute programme they just don't have enough news to promote! The 6.15 promo highlights the post 6.45 stories usually!

No you've really got to vote Peter. Well look, he's a sad workaholic plane spotter. He needs a life. Maybe he might just find one at that uni bar.

VOTE PETER NOW !!!!

After looking at all the messages in this thread, it seems there is a huge dislike of Look North's Hull opt-out. If you look at www.bbc.co.uk/humber you'll find that the BBC is having a new studio centre built in Hull City Centre and the plan is to make the area covered by Belmont a seperate region from the area covered by Emley Moor.

Personally I think this is a good idea because the west of the Look North region is mainly industrial (Leeds, Bradford, Sheffield etc) whereas the east of the LN Leeds region is mainly agricultural. E. Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Norfolk are predominently rural areas and most people who live there don't care about what happens in Leeds and Sheffield.

It would be really stupid if the BBC called the new programme from Hull "Look North"! There are already two editions of Look North (Leeds and Newcastle). So what should the new programme be called? Have you got any ideas?

I'd call it Look East because the programme will cover the coastline of East Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and North Norfolk. Plus the latter two counties aren't really Northern counties. I know Lincolnshire is officially in the East Midlands but Lincs can't be a Midland county in my opinion. It has a coastline!!!!!
