Look North now has a regional halfway mention opt on the 1 O'Clock news now as for the Six. Peter Levy AND Paul Hudson swap a couple of lines of banter and remind people what's on Look North from the main desk - it's excellent and it was the first time that they did so when I went to see behind the scenes yesterday!
Oh yes Steve - there really ARE Lego bricks stuck to buttons in the self-opt! They're white, and there's also Velcro stuck to a couple as well!
Indeed - ye of little faith - you'll believe me when I tell you things in future
It was the last
Calendar Lunchtime Live
before god knows when today, and it had a special World Cup feel.
The presenters and feature reporters (Carolyn Hodgson, Georgie Spanswick, Susan Brookes etc) were all on a special set, and many were in football shirts, Calendar's team captain, Christine Talbot got to wear the England one!
Tonight's Calendar hardly had any news in it!, This was because they needed to fit in, the Chat with Debbie, Golden Jubilee Special, Whats On and John Helm live from South Korea, The sub-regional news was very early, about 6:05pm!
Peter McNearny did Calendar News at 3.15pm, and Anne-Marie Tasker filled in for Nicola on "Whats On", I wonder if she bumped into "I'm Ian White" at the National Railway Museum, whilst doing Look North's same feature!
Ian white broke into fits of laughter at the end of the 10:25 bulletin tonight!
The 1977 related banter at Lunchtime was particularly funny today!
They keep tweaking the Calendar website, and it hasn't even been advertised on air yet (besides Neil Sean mentioning it on Lunchtime Live)
The Presenters page has been revised, and for some reason, pages about Jonathan Morrell, Phil Andrews, Julie Beanland, Paul Burland, Mark Dextor, Martin Fisher, Richard McElvanney, Kathryn Reaney and Dave Speck (who?) have all been removed!
What "I'm Ian White" said was something like, "Now its time for the Weather, but first I must say thanks to such and such..for showing my around their ambulance. Now, the weather...' and about 5 seconds in he started laughing, at the end he said "Its OK I wasn't ill, I was just interested!"
So there you go!
For those of you who didn't see the Lunchtime banter, Paul got out a copy of the
Yorkshire Post
from 1977 (Silver Jubilee year) and showed us the listings for
Pennine Radio (Bradford)
, who was doing a programme..."2.45pm Peter Levy"
Peter said, I was doing local radio in West Yorkshire 25 years ago, and I'm still doing the same thing now!
Breakfast Look North was presented by Charlotte Doney, With Weather from Elizabeth Saary
Lunchtime Look North and 5.50pm Look North were presented by Christa Ackroyd, With Weather from Paul Hudson. Harry Gration, Clare Frisby and Tom Ingall also appeared live from Leeds and Hull.
The late one is to be done by Ian White as usual.
A special end slide is being used detailing the next bulletin times, There is apparantly a near to full length edition of Look North at 6.30pm tommorow.
Peter Levy took a day off, will he be back tommorow?
Calendar News is being presented by Nicola, with Anne-Marie live at a street party

Poor Ian White, The newsreaders worst nightmare occured, He had to read the whole bulletin from paper, as the Autocue had packed in!
