They are saying that the Breakfast, Weekend, Lunchtime bulletin will be presented from a Lecturn........will it be a lecturn as in something similar to the one in my school hall, or lecturn as in BBC News desk but smaller and higher........

A lecturn is a lecturn isn't it?
- A high slanted table

Yep, that's definitely what a lectern is! Although it would be very strange indeed to see one used in tv news presentation - a bit like a school assembly, really...

When I read that, I kind of assumed they meant the same sort of small, high table with a laptop on that they use on South Today, but I may be wrong!

Newyddion at 6pm, which was a short update before Heno, used to use a lecturn to read the headlines from, and it was very small and very wobbly! The presenter used to try not to lean on it, but it was force of habit, and it didn't look very secure..

Surely Look East's lecturn would be a bit more like the one they use in the news cafe at Southampton?

Do you know, I think I'll have a look at the programme again on Monday, it's all very exciting. Whilst Wales heads towards their fifth Christmas with the same look, nice as it is, I have to start looking at Norwich for a bit of regional news studio interest, how sad[!]

Did anyone else notice the chair which James Blatch was sitting on? It was RED!! Not yellow!

Also was it must my Sky which froze and missed the titles into Look East?

Don't think it was your receiver - I think it was something higher up the transmission chain. I too got a juddering network repeating sequence of Sian (more than 2 fields I think) at the opt-out point, then the clipped titles.

I suspect this is because the network routing for The Forum is being sorted - and it may well be the way Cambridge gets to line is different this teatime than it was for The Politics Show at lunchtime.

Seems Cambridge has had a few tiny tweaks to it's studio but it's mainly the same. Biggest change is the red chair. The previous yellow one never did fit in very well.

First glimpse of the new look will be at lunchtime for those in the west. Those in the east should have already seen it.

Don't think so - the Breakfast bulletins are pan-regional and coming from Cambridge this morning. (Normally Norwich would do pan-regional brekky bulletins - Cambridge only opts out at 1830 and 2225 normally)

I recorded Breakfast on BBC One East (E) on DSat and that was definitely the Cambridge studio. They ran a short OOV showing the new gallery and editing and mentioned that they would be broadcasting for the first time from The Forum at lunchtime.

(I guess James Blatch did mean that the Cambridge team would be back during Breakfas, when he signed off on Sunday!)

The presenter we saw this morning is normally on in the mornings. I'm very sure Cambridge and Norwich go their seperate ways in the mornings as well.

Well they didn't on satellite this morning!

Up until now Look East has only regularly split at 1830 and 2225. Whether the relaunch will change this I don't know - but I very much doubt that they would split for Breakfast.

As to the presenter - as Cambridge doesn't normally split during Breakfast they don't have a morning presenter - so I suspect that one of the pan-regional presenters based in Norwich came across for a special one-off?

Look East is defiantly pan regional during Breakfast, though I must say the news items covered on the 7.30ish bulletin I caught were very west orientated, with just one east story concerning Southwold in Suffolk

Well a network style Capoeira ident at lunchtime (no East in the red box) but the anno was specific to Look East.

The headline opt was from Stewart stood in front of a large projector (with no set visible) and two out of vision headlines.

The studio camera was full 16:9.

There were small, but annoying, disturbances to sound and vision before and during the headline opts on satellite.

Well that was nice.

No shots from around the region, just shots zooming in on the news room (first outside the forum, couple of shots inside, then newsroom), very Big Breakfast-like.

New music, new graphics, new everything.

Is it still in keeping with the BBC News branding?

Cock up in the projector, right after the item on how good and cool their new technology was / is....

Also they are using the BBC LDN music.
