It was from Cambridge. I initially thought they'd decided to go with London News as we had that for the whole of the titles and the welcome but East opted in late.

That must have been on digital only then because I was watching on analogue and it was a perfect opt. It was Amelia Reynolds presenting. Although I think they had simple weather gfx - no map just text but it's so long since I caught a weekend bulletin they may do that normally anyway.

Must have been a DTT switching issue or in the West on digital. I was watching BBC East (E) on DSat and apart from a slight flash before and after (and a glitch mid way through a package) the opt was clean - no LDN.

I don't think they use symbols at the weekend - as there is no weather presenter in to produce the graphics / forecast.

Yeah, I was watching via DTT.

I was thinking just now about the Cambridge studio. Perhaps what they'll do is not have a close-up segment of the show for a week or something so that the cambridge studio can be changed.

I wouldn't be surprised if Cambs didn't change at all for a while. Didn't Oxford stick with the older regional look for quite a while after South Today moved to the newer look (in fact it may still be on the old look?)

Yep - Oxford are still using the old corporate set. And they've scrapped the nice view down the High Street too - now they're just using side-angle shots.

Really was a good send off programme tonight, and lets hope Midlands Today do a similar programme when they leave Pebble Mill….….

Likewise when Look North Leeds move from Woodhouse Lane to Quarry Hill. Perhaps smaller version for when Look North Hull move from Chapel Street to Queen's Gardens....

Seems as it has been mentioned Katherine, could you please tell me the date when Look North Leeds plan to move. Thanks

Can't remember where I heard it, but they plan to be moving in Spring 04.

AIUI this studio was housed within the Norwich building, and not in Cambridge at all? Someone care to fill in the gaps in my understanding?

!!

I think you're confusing BBC East with Anglia. Look East's West opt has always been in Cambridge. It's Anglia that produces its East and West editions both from Norwich.

Ah right - I must have done. Thanks for putting me straight on that, Nicky. You'll find it doesn't take much for me to become confused over something!!

I notice that the Politics Show East slot was all location based, and 14:9 pillarbox (with the switching splats at either end) on DSat, and the ident was the low luminance Cambridge version...

Any chance of getting any images for the forum when new Look East hits the screens tomorrow?!?! I'm sure we'll be impressed by this so much more than we were for new look Midlands Today. I wonder how the coffee table will look

Well I noticed that the green flashes on DSat around the opt-out and opt-in points weren't there at teatime - though they were there for The Politics Show. Instead there was a long-ish freeze of Network at the actual opt-junction.

I wonder if the distribution / opt-out gear has now been re-routed and is coming via The Forum, rather than the temporary set-up that may have been used over the weekend?

Also James Blatch said goodbye from the Cambridge team - and said "We'll be back at Breakfast" - whether that means Cambridge or Look East who knows? Perhaps the Breakfast opts will come from Cambs as well - even Lunchtime - allowing the 1830 to be the first Forum programme? Who knows!

It'll be 'we' as in Look East.... as far as the audience knows (not that most of them have even given it a second thought), it's business as usual.

They are saying that the Breakfast, Weekend, Lunchtime bulletin will be presented from a Lecturn........will it be a lecturn as in something similar to the one in my school hall, or lecturn as in BBC News desk but smaller and higher........

A lecturn is a lecturn isn't it?
