Well Look East has trouble tonight. They failed to opt out at 1830 - we had the headlines and top of BBC LDN. Then they opted but were running so late failed to opt back in for the end news summary from the 1800 and came in during the national weather.
Yep, but of a mess tonight. After Look East itself finished they showed a trailer for Inside Out (which is still 4:3 cropped to 14:9 for some reason) and then went to the national weather when it had already started. Why couldn't they finish LE a little earlier or dropped the trailer instead of cutting the start off the weather?

Apparently London finished early -- a few regions were caught out.

Does this mean that, for at least the second time, Network adjusted their timings to suit London and shaft the other 15 or so regions? (I believe this happened a few weeks ago - again catching quite a few regions - mainly those with PAs who still time their programmes to their full duration)
If London have problem then Pres should sit on an apology caption - or a freeze of LDNs titles - until the end of the opt. Only time this shouldn't happen is if there is a breakdown in Pres and they have to call the opt early - when possibly some regions haven't soft-opted.

Are you saying that the national BBC News finished early or LDN News finished early?

Yes - from what I hear they didn't hear the updated opt time on talkback, but then ... if you're not expecting it, then who would keep an ear out for it?
I don't know whether this has been pointed out before, but Look East's Saturday Evening show started with the actual London News theme rather than Look East's version of it. Dunno whether this is just for weekends or whether it's now changed to this permanantly.
I've noticed that the Look East theme does vary very slightly with the pips at the end. The weekday lunchtime bulletin does not have headlines after the theme so is slightly different to the main 6:30 bulletin which does have the headlines...although this seems to be the same as the 10:30 which again has no headlines.
I don't know if either of them is the same as the London theme though, because the only chance I get to see LDN is when Look East are late opting out from network as happened one day last week.
