Well, it certainly looks quite nice but, just as with the Midlands Today relaunch, I can't understand why they've stuck pretty much with the old beige look! I mean, they've moved to a completely new building, yet they've built a new set that's already out of date in some respects. Why??
Midlands Today haven't changed building yet - they're still at Pebble Mill, and not due to move to the Mailbox fr a few months yet.
...and then forgot to turn off Amanda's mic, so we got the noise of her taking it off over the main national heads. Oops.
Heard that on Network so I presume it was from LDN, or possibly the weather studio.
Must have been LDN as the mic was being taken/switched off. Also the news studio don't have anything to do with getting the weather to air, however I think they do cut to LDN.
Thankfully whoever it was didn't say anything she shouldn't

Yes that's true, they do for the 2225, so it almost certainly was spurious sound from MHS.
I was trying to blame pres in suggesting a very early lead of the weather studio audio - why not, they've cocked up quite a few other things recently
RE: Soft weather graphics when Julie is in the studio at lunchtime.
Looking at the screengrabs, and remembering the studio layout, the projector that Julie stood by went all the way to the floor almost (and looked more like 4:3 than 16:9), yet her 16:9 graphics need only extend down to her waist. This will mean that the weather graphics are probably being DVEd to shrink them vertically into the top half of a 4:3 frame (and if the projector is actually 16:9 and blanked/cropped to fill the 4:3 screen it might be that the graphics are also being squeezed horizontally as well), so have fewer lines than if they were cut straight to air. That coupled with the fact that they are being projected may explain the slight jaggies and blurryness.
New look fantastic. Dont like the coffee table tho, the only thing. Cant wait till Look East website finally updates the media player with one of this weeks programmes. New music and titles tho, thats the best bit.
Once again, Midlands Today, when are you going to learn that just sticking a new sofa in the studio and calling this a new look aint gonna impress us!!!!
Does Look East still have images next to the presenter to accompany the news items, or like with Midlands Today, have these been sadly dropped? I hate this coz you cant actually tell youre watching Midlands Today now when in the studio, apart from the familiar faces and backdrop.
