Yes I like this new look, its always better when more happens than expected (the new titles) rather than it being a let down (Midlands Today's recent 'new look')

I do think it would have been better if the view of The Forum actually was real though. Also, as others have said, whats wrong with a desk, the presenters sometimes look uncomfortable just sat there reading the autocue

I believe that the idea is that a newsdesk is a barrier between the presenter and the viewer, so they decided to get rid of it. I prefer a newsdesk for a news programme but that depends whether Look East really sees itself as a news programme or a news magazine programme. There is a bit of a difference.

I suppose the BBC regional programmes are a bit of both.

That's a good point. If you think of the regions that practise dinky-seatery, what have we -- Midlands, East Midlands, East and half of the Leeds programme. Arguably all of those are rather magaziney, chatty formats, with nonsense and banter a-plenty.

But when you think of your Wales Today, Spotlight, Points West and so on -- these seem to be slightly more formal [especially in the case of the nations] -- less of the fluffy stuff, and the desk suits it much more.

I daresay Hull would love dinky seats.. maybe one day.

The music they use is from the Local Radio Music set, hence the more highpitched and more light-hearted version of the LDN jingle. Look East Sting

Is the new Look East sting also used on BBC Radio Norfolk?

Many of the Local Radio Stations use the same music package. So it is possibly the same

But only London use that theme tune (which was derived from the old London Live theme). The BBC Local radio jingle package is very diffrent and is used by many stations around the country

Are the opening titles staying? They are just shots of the Forum. What about the rest of the region!!??

I love the fact they've done that; reminds me of the 1999 East Midlands Today titles, before the corporate look. I'd rather look at pictures of the newsroom and building than some people standing around looking foolish, wherever they are.

Anyway: the whole thing is marvellous. Well done.

Indeed BBC Radio Norfolk use different jingles, infact all the eastern counties BBC local radio stations use different jingles from each other, and another jingle when they all join up weekday evenings.

Well done Look East, I think the new look is VERY nice, especially the extra large screen and the new studio. I will definately watch Look East more often lol. Wow, they have the most modern media centre in the entire world!, shame they have no real decent news content!! lol.

Like the astons, especially the Live DOG, although Look East have a problem with not being able to keep the Live Dog on screen for longer than the astons! I thought this problem would have been rectified with the move!

Anyway, very nice, although I thought I watching LDN for a second ! lol

I hat to be pushy or annoying, but does anyone have any videos of it, whatever the quality?

I've often felt in the past that here in the east we were slightly left behind with Look East's presentation i.e. many other regions getting new looks before us. I feel very proud now to have Look East as my home BBC local news programme.

Will be very interesting to see if and how other regions adopt some of the features of Look East i.e. the LDN music.

I noticed looking at their previous titles that 'The Forum' featured in them.

Blown away with how good Look East now looks - does it give away any hints as to a nationwide new look for news presentation in the future? Are Look East the 'trailblazers' of the BBC regions?

What a great revamp!

I love the new look, the studio is so crisp on my TV now!

I think there will always be a few glitches to start with, I agree the weather map looks zoomed in and blurry, but I expect they will sort that eventually.

All in all, what a lovely studio, and a surprise on the theme too with the LDN stylee sound.

Well done.

There's still a bit of cream in the set though?
