Well, it certainly looks quite nice but, just as with the Midlands Today relaunch, I can't understand why they've stuck pretty much with the old beige look! I mean, they've moved to a completely new building, yet they've built a new set that's already out of date in some respects. Why??
Just watching the main programme now, and the set doesn't look quite as old-style corporate as I thought, which is good. It looks like they've changed the chairs from the Breakfast-style ones on the Look East website - shame they're not as bright a red IMHO.
I have to say the titles are very nice indeed - interesting that they've gone for a variation on the BBC London 4-note jingle at the end. I certainly prefer the bright red to the red and yellow of the other regions.
On the downside, that projected image of the Forum is pretty poor really. Far too low-res to do the building justice. I'm also not too convinced by the grey graphics - grey has to be my least favourite 'colour' (if you can even call it that). Although the astons look a bit better than I'd expected...
All in all, I'd say it's a pretty impressive relaunch, but there's definitely room for improvement!
Ooo, it is lovely *jealous*. Everything looks very settled already -- the two of them are obviously comfortable with what are, essentially, posh infant school chairs. The titles are nice, scenes of the Forum, but no headlines before the titles at all -- which is strange, unique I think too.
Most of the reports are in full widescreen too, as well as live interviews -- even the nations don't often have that[!] And from what I saw, Cambridge have adopted the new look as well -- then again all they've done is change the screen and adopted the astons. The jingly thing back to Norwich is nice too. And star studded as well, with a Stephen Fry interview.
So erm, yes. The way forward for England methinks. I do wish Wales had two presenters too, it does suit the type of programme -- but then they have had one presenter for years now, and will never be as comfy and informal as England's regions are. But then Wales have a dragon.
thanks martin. cool sting. damn you midlands today for having the same boring titles with your "new look"
PLEASE PLEASE more pics when possible. wanna see the coffee table. i dont get to see it.
I am impressed on the change to the main programme. The forum in Norwich is a very impressive building and accomadates the BBC with a unique broadcasting style whilst public are visiting other facilities there.
I couldn't help but look out behind the presenters at the people in the Library.
