There are several East regions, I am not sure what variant it is!

Either BBC1 East (W) or BBC1 East (E), they are both the same except for an sub-opt for more local news during the 6.30 programme, and the 10.25 programmes are split as well.

951 is the Look East Norwich variant, with 952 containing the Cambridge version (which only differs at 1830 and 2225)

I didn't describe the astons very well. The left hand edge still has the Red bit with BBC Look East on it, only the text bit is now grey not red.

I don't like the curves on the Look North astons at all - they look too fussy and over produced. As for the little picture of the reporter - that really is taking the mickey!

What colour is the text on the astons? I really can't envisage grey straps!

Well I had a look on the quick afternoon update, and what a change. Yes, very LDN-sounding music, all you get on the afternoon bulletin is the sting at the end, which was different to London -- no idea what the tune before it is like yet.

Here are a couple of captures from the afternoon, the astons are like Carol's there, with grey location straps too on the quick reports -- and the short titles were simply the pulsating screen to her right there. Obviously these are from digital, which as someone pointed out, doesn't like red very much.

I think this evening's programme could be very nice, I *do* hope they show us around -- it's only polite.

It's something unique to the region - the curve is supposed to represent the Humber Bridge...

Well they've certainly been very bold, especially with an undercoat-coloured aston, but it appears to have paid off!

Look East has now got a smaller colour palette to work from, they've completely dropped the use of yeloow, Red is in. Therefore, they probably find it hard to use another colour. i.e - grey.

This is definately an impressive new look, it seems Look East now beats the standards set by bbc network news on their January relaunch and by far beats the presentation of News 24. Can't wait for 6:30.

I agree - I watched at lunchtime and it looked really good. The grey astons are in fact the smartest and crispest i've seen on Look East. The weather map needs a bit of tweaking by the looks of things, as it severly lacks definition, and looks dodgy as hell.

Just to mention also that Stewart White was sitting down at lunchtime, unlike Carol Bundock, at her lecturn, on those captures above.

Hmmm, I'm not sure I like the view of the office, as opposed to a view of outdoors. Confused But it's nice that it's a real proper window, not plasma/projection/CSO. Smile

I wonder if this is indicative of what Midlands Today will look like in The Mailbox Confused:

Has Cambridge been upgraded to proper 16:9 too? Did weekend bulletins come from Cambridge with a tape of Norwich in the "window" ?

It is projected! There was a cock up at lunchtime with it!
