The layout of the BBC Look East section of The Forum in Norwich is on the site now.......heres the address
BBC Look East Layout
Looks like a good layout over two floors......and they even say that Stewart and Suzie wont be just sat at the desk presenting, they will also be around the place in the forum.

Radio Norfolk moved in there at the end of June. The TV facilities are taking a bit longer to set up, but the move in date is september apparently.
Looks good actually, looks like they've learnt from the mistakes of a couple of the other recent refits

I must have been chained to a radiator as a hostage in Libya for the past ten years...
This is the first time I've been aware of BBC East moving.
Is it an obligation for BBC regions that are relocating, to move into a building with a quirky name beginning with "The..."
: (e.g. Norwich relocating to The Forum; Birmingham relocating to The Mailbox)
I'm sure I heard somewhere that Leeds and Glasgow are on the verge of moving?

Speaking of Look East...
The view in the "window" of the Cambridge opt-out suffers from a problem: In hours of darkness, it looks like like almost total blackness. There are obviously few sources of light in the view (e.g. streetlamps). It makes it almost look as if they've forgotten to switch the studio plasma on at all!
Surely they could have chosen a view that wouldn't present this problem? The original "window" view on Midlands Today (March 2000) created the exact same problem, but several view-changes later, the current MT view is fine at night.

Well it all used to be on tape anyway - I think it's live now though.

Yep, BBC Scotland is moving to Pacific Quay and Leeds will soon have a new building, Although after Norwich I think Birmingham is next on the list.
Many of the BBCs buildings across the country are either inadequate for modern broadcasting or in a bad state of repair. Some of the local radio stations are in appaling buildings - in Leicester things are so bad they balloted staff whether to move straight away to temporary premises while the new building was built or stay in the current conditions (they voted for the latter). I think it was Leicester where the toilets broke down and all the staff had to leg it into a shopping centre to relieve themselves.
Other planned changes: Presentation is moving to a purpose built, more flexible building next year. News and the World Service move into the rebuilt Broadcasting House in 2008 and BBC Manchester is being upgraded/partially redeveloped at some point.
All the regional TV centres are all being upgraded with modern digital equipment for their news programmes, including those that aren't moving. All the radio stations have been upgraded over the past few years.

Yup - BBC Leeds are moving from their current base at Woodhouse Lane, to Quarry Hill. BBC Hull is also moving from Chapel Street in Hull to Queen's Gardens, Hull sometime in November....
