Look Around You

A good showing of the old BBC-2 Ident from the 1970s made an appearance at the start of "Look Around You" at 10pm on BBC-2 last night. This surreal comedy series is a good outlet for old programme presentation slides as it is a parody on programmes of the 1970s.

It's shown before every episode, and it's been mentioned here before.

Last nights was good, including the bizarre "Antmas Eve" programme rundown slide before the show itself.

Last night's edition was probably the best of the series, I liked the scenes with Bournemouth the computer, especially the phone call at the end from Bournemouth (the location), also liked the "Special Report" with the video games, especially the slapping animals one, and David Walliams as the studio technician with the beard, he suited it I thought.

That was David Walliams?

Could have been David Williams , either way his name (or similar) was in the credits, I thought he looked familiar...

Matt Lucas was on "Look Around You" a few weeks ago which makes it likely his partner in crime could make a cameo appearance.

Ah, iMDb say David Walliams was in one of the episodes of Series 1... at the moment it only lists the actress who played Patricia in last night's episode.

Now she was funny.

"Where did you get he idea for the petticoat 5000 ladies computer?"

"I saw it in a dream, and then the next night I had the dream again, and again for the next 40 nights..."

David Walliams was the voice of Bournmouth, in series 1 only his bottom made an appearance.

The studio technician was Edgar Wright, the scientist from series 1, better known as director of Spaced and Shaun of the Dead.

Definately the best show from this series.
