Hi all Smile

I hope you find this as interesting as I did.

We were doing some work in the old ITV Channel TV building at La Pouquelaye in Jersey, and was surprised just how much of it was still intact, considering it has been abandoned for some time. Other companies have since moved into other parts of the building (including the main studio, the pictures included of the main studio are older than the others. It is now pretty much empty except for some VR equipment)

Even after a year of them moving to their new premises, the old building still looks pretty much like this. Thought you guys might be interested in a '28 days Later' style snooping around slideshow.

The old Oscar Puffin Studio.

The empty film archive. Surprised how large this archive was actually.

An old Channel TV Logo.

Off-Air with an even OLDER Channel TV logo hidden in the picture.

A goodbye from one of the old staff presumably Sad

Surprised how in tact all of it still was. The building was built in 1988 so a lot of the cabling and infrastructure was still old, but with a lot of newer kit in places. Seeing as though the new Castle Quay building is probably built for HD, i imagine a lot of the stuff here isn't useful to anyone anymore, but i'm surprised they have just left it there still mostly in tact.

Is the big screen on the news set an actual TV or projection screen? I only ask because I've noticed a few abandoned ITV News sets with the big screen left there whereas the smaller screens have gone.

It was actually a rather old looking projector.

The custom made Sony Broadcast panels, and branded jack-fields pre-date my time with Sony, so they are pre-1985. Other stuff like the Snell and Wilcox IQ glue frames are relatively recent, almost this decade.

It looks to have been a well maintained facility, with plenty of professional pride. All credit to them.

Ahh interesting that the old desk or coffee table is still present...I even offered to pay for it!

Not there now unfortunately. The studio itself is completely empty.

It was a surprisingly well equipped and large facility too. Considering how the Channel region has to be the smallest in the ITV network, i was surprised how large it was.
