Universal have put the piss-taking music video on YouTube

Also I think she's up against X-Factor 2007 winner Leon this week for the number 1?

Someone commented today that the spoof worked because in a way it wasn't a spoof - everything (well..almost!) that happened on Britain's Got the Pop Factor... happened on Britain's Got Talent / X Factor etc...

I believe the DVD's due out in December

I wonder how many times he will repackage that over the next few years before coming out with new material?

Harsh but sadly true. It's a pitty he hasn't come up with new stand up material in the interim

I can't be the only one who quite likes the song in a guilty pleasure sort of way, am I? Very Happy

Is it being filmed in Manchester? The studio seems to have the same depth as the Soapstar Superstar studio.

Glad I wasn't the only one wondering that. It helped during some of the slower bits of the studio part of the show.

Straight off, it wasn't Fountain studios A & B where the usual Cowell talent show are transmitted from.
So, first on the list I thought it may have been TC8 (low grid, shallow rake of audience seating, and the dot matrix signs at the back of the studio were covering up the ob deck windows), but then the studio wall when Geraldines 'mum' was brought in wasn't the usual BBC studio wall.

Pretty sure it wasn't Studio 1 at London Studios (too small) and neither I don't think it was Studio 2 at LTS (lighting grid all wrong, plus not the standard red seating) plus in one jib swoop over the audience the camera had a black rectangle strip on it, rather than the LTS square logo.

That only leaves Pinewood, Shepperton or Teddington - and the filmography on the Pinewood-Shepperton website makes no mention of it being recorded there...

..all of which leads me to think it was either Elstree, or Granada (Kay has a history of keeping his tv productions Manchester area based) using the studio used for Stars In Their Eyes and Soapstar Superstar.
Can anyone confirm?

Granada would be my guess, although I guess Leeds is another option to consider

Possibly Granada studios - as someone has said he like to keep things local - i.e. BOLTON (please do not assume he likes filming in Manchester - phoenix nights was Kearsley in bolton, Max and Paddy mainly all in Bolton (the sparking plug is actually the Spakling Clog on Radcliffe Moor Road in Bradley Fold, Bolton whilst the A-team spoof bit in the garage (same ep as Sparking Plug) is actually opposite the Sparklin clog - used to get my tyres from that garage!!! - with a couple of scenes in London, The Peter Kay thing was Bolton.) For all we know it could have been Lee lighting studios (if they still exist) in Kearsley in Bolton! (I know they used to exist as I saw 4 episodes on onnection being filmed there - Manchester Road - the main bus route 8 between Bolton and Manchester)

Apparently they filmed some scenes just outside of Warrington. To be fair to Kay he doesn't like Filming outside of the North West, so there's a good chance he used Granada/The Manchester Studios, they've filmed the interior scenes for Phoenix Nights there previously.

I only watched a minute of the programme and it felt all to real for me, too much like The X Factor, I've not been Kay's biggest fan in the last few years to be honest, and I can see this being repeated and re-released on DVD to death.

The studio was MUCH smaller and the set quite different from The X Factor. (And they wouldn't have been able to have used the set even if they had used the studio unless Syco had been in on it)

I assumed it was Peter Kay himself.

As for the single - I've seen no mention of the C-word at all, so is it just to line Peter Kay's pockets?
