Wasn't the binman comedy project only scrapped last year (it was with Craig Cash iirc), if so that was well after the Spikey fall out - which itself was primarily to do with Spikey and Fitzmaurice's royalty share from the script book of Pheonix Nights published way back in 2003.
Like I say, could be another project I'm thinking about, there have been many rumored.
From what I've read before, that's actually slightly misleading. It won't be a reality tv spoof and it certainly isn't a comedy, it's a straight up horror show albeit with comedic elements. I suspect the Guardian have latched onto this BB thing when it's probably only mentioned for five minutes in one episode of the series.
Don't know how dangerous it will be to admit this, but I've seen part of this being filmed...cos I was in the Big Brother crowd a few weeks ago. The week Belinda was evicted, they asked everyone in the crowd to stay for an extra 20ish minutes so they could film a 'fake' eviction with a cast member for a new TV "drama". She was taken into the house through a backdoor and we were asked to cheer her name (can't remember it now) as she walked out of the house like a real contestant with signs especially for her character. (Note: No zombies, but there was a teeny crowd of screamers separate from the house which struck me as a little odd...perhaps they part of the story??)
But I can assure you the BB aspect isn't just a fleeting part. They showed on the big screen a few minutes of footage from the house of the 'housemates' sitting in anticipation and silence. Not only was the whole thing shot so realistically that my first thought was that it was an international version of BB, but the entire house/set was incredibly convincing - it was so well designed and structured, it could easily be a real BB design. So I'd be willing to bet big bucks that, well, big bucks have been spent on it!
And I shook Charlie Brooker's hand... he looked at me like I'd given him lergees haha.
Will Screenwipe be returning does anyone know or has he ran out of topics to cover?
I would expect it'll be back. Seems to have been something of a hit for BBC Four. As for topics to cover, I don't think he's someone who's short of opinions on a range of broadcasting topics, so I dare say he'll find something.
I do wonder though how he'll find time for Screenwipe if he's working on this zombie horror programme.
Just seen a trailer for this on C4. The programme name unsurprisingly takes up the trailer, with a quick clip of Peter Kay, before the end cap - which doesn't even attempt to get the title on it.
