Anyone know just how many days Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway are in studio 1? It sounds like madness to book it out for more than Friday, Saturday and possibly Thursday but I've heard of a few shows usually in there relocating to Fountain, and one or two other clues on the show's twitter regarding production offices. As I said it would be madness so I'm sure I've got the wrong end of the stick and the other shows simply wanted weekend records and it wasn't possible.

Thanks all

Generally speaking, yes, sets go in overnight, are fine-lit and rehearsed during the day of TX or recording, then are struck almost as soon as the audience leaves.

Quite how this will work when the remaining studios at TC are in the middle of a housing estate will remain to be seen...

Well I think Saturday Night Takeaway also rehearse all of Friday.

So thanks for two posts not answering the question and indulging yourselves Very Happy

Well if people don't know the answer they can't tell you, that doesn't mean there won't be other knowledge that will be relevant that can impart.

Nah Jon it was answering the complete opposite question and merely being a bit patronising and handing down knowledge from on high. Which is fine I guess TVF and DS are known for these sort of posts well

I don't they they were 'handing down knowledge from on high' at all. They both tried to be helpful in their responses, and neither of them were patronizing in the slightest. They've helped you to the best of their knowledge, and I think you've been a bit rude in rebutting their responses.

I think those two posts satisfied me in terms of informing me. If you want to know for sure, go and get a job at TLS and work your way up to set building so you can see it yourself.

How ungrateful? They were two perfectly good answers

I'd have thought that as it's studios 1-3 that are remaining it wouldn't be a problem. They'll be accessible from Wood Lane without having to go past the residential bits.

Besides, isn't TC8 very near to a housing estate?

I'm sorry if I came across as patronising in my response. It wasn't meant to be, and I don't think it was. It was a general answer based on what I'd seen at Television Centre during the decade or so that I worked there.

I've been on the receiving end of a few negative comments following posts I've made on the forum recently and I'm rather tiring of it. I joined TVF because I grew up fascinated by how TV worked, how stuff was made and what happened behind the scenes. I had to make do with the occasional behind the scenes bit on Blue Peter or Swap Shop until I could get some work experience at Granada aged 16 so I could really find out whether it was the industry for me. I'm pleased that these days there are accessible forums like this where industry members are happy to help and answer such questions. It's a shame I don't seem to have the answers some people want to hear anymore.

Sorry you thought that, I was merely just giving you a bit of help but I've deleted the post now because you think that I wasn't answering your question and indulging myself.
