Honestly? I only found this site (TV Home) about a month ago ...

I know it's been there since March 2000 'cos I work on one of the other BBC 'Where you live' sites that launched the same day ... see URL below Smile

Yep - and I believe the reason the travel bulletins are done in that style... i.e. in a box ...is because of the move of regional News to 14:9 cropping of 4:3.

The travel camera locations (which are burnt in before they get to Elstree/Marylebone) are very close to 14:9 cut-off and would be chopped off to 16:9 widescreen viewers if they werent boxed...
