I think it's a Ozzie version rather than the one we know and "love"!

No such farewell on ITV1 - Ladette to Lady finishes, glitch, half a second of a man walking down a beach, signal goes. We've been spoiled with BBC1 and Ch4 though :p

I think the man on the beach was a brief glimspe of C5!

Will channel five have anything prepared? This reminds me of that episode of the simpsons where sideshow bob demands all networks shutdown or he'll blow up springfeild.

It's a very odd, very surreal experience...

...and as I type that, Channel 5 just went in the middle of a programme. It's over.

If by "anything prepared" you mean unceremoniously switching off half way through a programme, then yeah.

It all feels rather apocalyptic...I've been watching it go on my upstairs TV which I've had since 2002, before Freeview even started. Flicking through the channels and seeing static on each one is very odd.

I remember finding it unbelievable when digital switchover plans were announced about ten years ago...I thought it impossible that everyone would have digital by that time. But there you go. Definitely the end of an era.
