And the titles are growing on me - if only the theme tune was a little more amplified.

I missed the titles last night but heard Elbow's Olympic theme used during the Ore segment and presumed that they'd brought that back, especially with it being back at the London stadium, only to catch up and see that in fact they've opted for 'Green Light' by Lorde.

"First Steps" is only being used as a bed for medals tables, schedule checks etc, in almost exactly the same way that "The Birdie Song" isn't used as a headline bed on News 24.

Don't see any need for the permanent #bbcathletics DOG. Also must say Gabby Logan has really grown into the role of the main athletics host and appears to have a breadth of knowledge her predecessors didn't.

Interesting that Jonathan Edwards has just had a thoroughly detailed, longform interview with Lord Coe. Shows where the power in the sport now resides, Discovery.

No problem with the #bbcathletics hashtag, reasonably unobtrusive tucked bottom right on the screen.

Has now been taken off during the live action. It's in the right place but a little bit on the large size IMO.

Which has gone now anyway.

The clock appears before the (very jazzy) title sequence; I like how it's on London time.

What's the other piece of music the BBC are using as a bed? It's an 80's piece of music but I can't place it.

The two pieces I've heard are:
The BBC's 2012 Olympic theme, Elbow - First Steps

And
"And I Will Kiss" - Underworld ft. Evelyn Glennie

Edit: It seems you mean this:
