Had BBC 2 stuck with the Opening Ceremony for just 2 minutes more they would have got to the end of it. Weird choice!
I think the fact we were down to the Duke of York said everything that needed saying about that "Opening Ceremony". That's why they're never usually shown!
The 'Ceremony' Clearly overrun it's slot which the organisers wouldn't have been happy about. Timings for broadcasters would have been all over the place whilst they caught up (estimate it tool them around 30-45mins so to do).
Interesting shot of the Eurosport team including Edwards and Rutherford on the World Feed shown on BBC ONE. Awkward as Gabby Logan had advised viewers that Rutherford 'wasn't in the stadium due to injury' earlier in the session.
Yes I thought that was a bit unprofessional, showing another presenting team who were clearly not on air and not expecting to be seen. I wonder what the point was?
BBC One staying with the athletics to see Mo Farah's medal ceremony, delaying the news. And BBC Two is simulcasting.
If BBC One was always planning on staying for the medal ceremony, they really should have scheduled the news for 10.30pm and planned for the coverage to stay on One. Because this is a bit silly.
EDIT: and, really taking the biscuit, the News Channel is currently simulcasting the Gabby Logan programme as well!

I suppose we are in 'Murray Territory' with this performance, so BBC ONE is the proper place for it, as for scheduling it before, would have been an anti-climax if Mo Farah hadn't won.
On the plus side, great little studio set up. The sofa makes it seem like quite a large space.
Also I have fond memories (as many do) of the atmosphere amongst the crowds leaving Olympic Park in 2012 - so it's a great idea to have Ore Oduba alongside them for the 10pm segment.
And the titles are growing on me - if only the theme tune was a little more amplified.
The ceremony was quite strangely programmed for 5-minutes after the race - and that just never happens in athletics. Usually the ceremony for the last event of the night would take place the next day.

I know people complain that the BBC move events between BBC One & Two especially during Wimbledon and Olympics etc. but I think they were right to stay on BBC One until the medal ceremony, maybe it's a bit much it was also on BBC News Channel as well however it is big moment for the Championships. Another thing I will say they did better this time than they do at Wimbledon is that Gabby Logan only said once the News was delayed at 10pm and they put graphics at the bottom of the screen saying the BBC News at 10 will follow the conclusion of this programme rather than Sue Barker stating after every game at Wimbledon when you know the tennis is staying on BBC One and most shows will be on BBC Two.
