That logo is horrible. They should re-desine it.

Someone on B3ta.co.uk made up a 'Goatse' Olympic logo and sent into the BBC:
http://www.boingboing.net/2007/06/04/london_2012_olympic_.html

It was taken off the BBC website, but London News used it as an actual logo from a viewer, whoops http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1224/530088950_b0d4f91765_o.jpg

If you don't know what Goatse is, I'd advise you to look on Wikipedia rather than Google!

They should go for something more curved - the current one is just too wooden - I hate it.

I like that, apart from the colours.

I like this one. Much neater than the real one.

'Graham Coe' (any relation to Seb?) sent this in to the BBC News website as a possible origin for the logo.

it's terrible and what bugs me is it's a case of that's it and hardluck if you don't like it - you'll just have to get used to it. Also, why is there a little dot in the middle - does it signify anything ie, the designers brain size??

if we can't design a logo what hope have we got of sorting the transport, venues etc. two hopes - bob hope & no hope

It would never be allowed though due to the way the olympic rings have been altered

It does look so much better in the 3D version, but what that video shows I think is they'd be better off using a different colour for each bit - seems more vibrant then, and less - well, ugly!

A cropped version of that is now my MSN display picture, but no-one has asked about it yet.

I found that video CRINGE WORTHY!

Following previous years with their simplistic design, I had a go with, urgh, Paint. It looks terrible because I kept resizing it, but if done by the same artist, it could work, maybe without the black Big Ben lines.

Here my attempt, for what it's worth:
