That would be a desperate plea to people from LOCOG then!
(although the one who ran smiling to the bank with £400K is probably on the same world tour as Team McCann now)

i think its the kind of logo that could grow on you. as we know its going to cost the country an absolute fortune to host the games - so it seems right that the image we portray is one of a modern country, rather than the historic view which works well for the tourists already.

i also know how 'sensitive' the organisers are already being about the trademarks/logos/brand, which is understandable when they are expecting companies like lloyds bank to cough up huge amounts of money to be associated with the games. by having such a distinctive logo, buying into the games will be more attractive to sponsors as it will have more of an impact.

... i may be wrong however, and it may still look crap in a year or so's time.

I'm guessing they're realatives of the people who designed it.

It would be good if the BBC could go round the world and ask people what they thought of it. Then hopefully we could expect some sort of change. Denise Lewis in the press conference made me laugh, trying to act like what she was saying was of her own free will! Who could possibly be positive about that and be serious at the same time?

It is fair to say that logos which are initially hideous do tend to grow on you - it's got five years I suppose.

Sometimes a very nice logo can become very old, very quickly!

I don't think it's a modern logo at though - very 80s / 90s if you ask me.

we're done for then - Lloyds sold out and became Lloyds-TSB nearly a decade ago!

I really don't like that logo. Most of the alternative logos posted so far have been good, whereas this looks poor.

(does everything have an online petition now? I'm thinking of starting one asking for online petitions to be banned.)

The logo is awfull though, maybe it will 'evolve' into something different before the games begin..

this reminds me of when the new bbc logo was revealed years ago. the daily mirror ran it on the front page and the whole world thought it was awful. and yet within a few years, after it was implemented so well on and off screen, people can't imagine the beeb using anything else.

the fact it was so bold and simplistic really set it apart from the itv companies and channel 4 at the time. the london games logo really quite rightly stands apart from the other winter/summer games logos.

i think we should wait to see the implementation before we denounce it completely.

....nah! that's boring. Lets have some fun running it and the design company into bankruptcy first! Laughing
