London 2012 Logo

Someone on the BBC news site has described it as Lisa Simpson giving oral.

Chicago gave just revealed their logo as intended "Candidate City" for 2016, which apparently can't be the one for the games, or include the olympic rings yet, but at least it has symbolism of the city (the skyline) and a games motif (ie the torch) unlike the modified EastEnders logo we had before:

I thought "WHAT?" as soon as I saw it in the thread. I dunno if I'm just used to the old Candidate logo but I massively preferred that to this 'Bits of torn up paper' one. Horrible.

Although maybe I'll have warmed to it in five years time, I dunno...

I didn't like Sydney's that much, although this one.. that's something else. Even worse than Germany's World Cup logo.

I've just sussed out the London one:

if you squint from a distance it looks like a mugging victim, who has been stabbed in the stomach, pointing to his alleged attacker.

Very topical! But not quite the image we should be portraying, even if factually accurate.

They seem to be pushing it as a multimedia logo, so has anyone seen it animated yet?

It might be marginally better!



Also, for the first time they're using the same logo for the Paralympics too!

Here's my alternative, I have toiled for "moments" on it. It represents Big Ben, an international symbol of London and the UK, with some pretty Olympic colours thrown in. I also rang my neice in Wales for "yoof" advice on the strap below.

First thought was Kiss FM second thought was that graphic thing that popped/pops up on MTV

It's not great, a real wasted opportunity, it's a world away from other olympic logos posted on this thread. For it not to contain any of the olympic colours is a big mistake too

.....that monkey was very well paid by all accounts! He's now got a senior job with RED BEE designing the next logos for ITV in 2009! (I joke - before me or TV-F get sued)

I think my slap dash GCSE graphics project is better!
