I have always likes this logo as its different and thought over, I hard to see how 2012 be incorparated into the word London, but you never think it would work, I wish this was the logo they chose if they got rid of the logo. But its a great logo that has took some thinking to incorparate the words 2012 and London


To be honest when I first saw it I didn't like it but that has certainly grown on me far quicker than the current one (which I still dislike alot).

Apparently, according to Teletext Pg161 (possibly London only???) MP's have signed a motion to rethink the logo.

Read into that what you will but there might be some hope.

Probably not though th L2012 commitee have basically said it's here to stay tough sh*t Mad

MPs love doing their motions - they never get anywhere, it's usually one MP just getting a name for themselves and a few more jumping on the bandwagon.

I have put the logo so that it reads 2012 and not 20 and 12 underneath

Nice, getting slight hints of Madeline about this, same type of crazy-arse hysteria surrounding something small. I don't know what's getting me more, the fact that this logo is getting slated long before the supporting brand has even been shown or that people just want something that's been done before and shows little to no innovation. I don't care if people think it looks like crap and make **** little kid jokes about it, it tried to do something and shook up how Olympic logos can look. To me, it's not in style just yet but will be in 5 years time and I'm sick of hearing how everyone hates it so much it might as well have kidnapped "our Maddie". itself given the outrage it created.

STFU everyone, it's just a logo (and yet to be seen brand), tell me if it's crap in 4 years time alright? If it is then all your anger wasn't for naught but really, all this uproar to get a boring old fart of a logo instead lessens my like of people. Like TSW when they had to dump their excellent first batch of idents for the slow and generally average ones later. Heck, even like the balloons being replaced by the ruddy dancers, it'll be just that if it goes ahead and everyone gets their buttoned-down, mudane piece of crap they wanted all along.

To rebut your own words from another thread back at you Nini, work your people-commenting-on-a-logo issues out elsewhere. So people may not like it its true, but you're acting like anyone criticising it is somehow nicking your soul and possibly some parts of your brain. Is Rokus Media somehow benefitting from this?

The big problem with this new London 2012 brand is that it's not just us members of the public who dislike it, the graphic design community do also.

That's when you know it's really in trouble, when those who know about design and branding universally think it's sh*t.... then it is almost certainly sh*t.
