Good to see BBC using their Olympic titles one final time with the great Elbow track... It would've been silly not to.

And a nice touch for them to use the same sofa and desk down on the stage by Buckingham Palace. Memories are flooding back of the fabulous coverage by the BBC.

Pooled video I see, being used by both BBC and Ch4.

So are Sky doing their own thing, or are they also being allowed to dip in and out of the pool feed?

Sky 1 are also taking the Sky News coverage.

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to how the URL ended up with "tennis" in it?

BBC and C4 seem to be sharing games footage too, well in excess of their 'allowance' under normal rules. No doubt rights holders IOC and LOCOG have allowed a dispensation for this occasion.

An interesting nugget - it sounds like this year's SPOTY will not use the newspaper editors shortlist, as they have since 2006, following last year's controversy. Steve Redgrave just announced that he was on the 'selection panel', so presumably the BBC have asked a number of retired sportspeople to pick the shortlist...

Yes, as is to be expected. It benefits everyone to do it that way

They are showing the same shots as BBC1/C4 so they must be

I suspect that the rules have changed a bit now that both games are finished too

Overshooting it's timeslot too, so the Doctors and Flogit simulcast on BBC ONB HD / BBC HD issue now no longer is a consideration, the former debuting on BBC HD now

It all feels a bit flat at the end, a bit like they had this idea for a parade but weren't sure what to do when they got to Buck House. Although compared with the ceremonies and the jubilee concert anything they did there would look a bit dull.

Mind you Helen Skelton's 'wardrobe malfunction' was amusing
