Barry Davies did get rather excited at the time of the announcement too! Any video of Kay Burley?
On BBC News 24 this afternoon, Jon Sopel ventured out into the Paris crowd. Two hours after the announcement, a small crowd were still there, debating why Paris lost. Jon interviewed a very polite Parisien women, who ended her comments with 'well done London', but half way through, the crowd ganged up on Sopel, started booing into the cameras, and giving the thumbs down sign. A fire-cracker was let off, Sopel jumped, as if in some war zone, and said 'I don't know whether we can continue with this...'. Quite entertaining, but also perhaps a perfect example of the current Parien attitude - they booed pictures of Trafalgar Square when they were shown by French television, (I believe TV2) even before the announcement was made.
I had to go out at about 1:20pm today, did ITV show the regional news? In the news update shown earlier on UTV the presenter said "Next news at 1:10pm". Once 1:20 came I was starting to get worried!

Next time the Germans invade them, we should leave them to their own devices.

And we wouldn't do the same if it was the other way round? We would have reacted badly. Sometimes i don't think brits understand the meaning of 'keeping peace'. Look how many football yobs act if their team loose, they go on a violent rampage. And look what's happening now at the G8 march in Scotland.
