If people want to stay up all night and log BBC1 idents on a pres. forum then that's their perogative - I don't particularly find lists such as this particularly scintillating reading, but to whose who do should have their wishes respected as long as it doesn't break the rules or cause offence to anyone else.
The thread was created separately just as an easy quick look at what ident were being shown to save people from trolling through all the discussion pages. It was only ever intended to be for a couple of days perhaps run into Monday just to see how the new weekday look will fare as well. Surely for those who are not interested they can just ignore it.
But it's not about offence or insult. It's simple common sense and mental sanity.
Staying up all night and then trying to put in a full day is NOT good. Believe me - I've tried it, and it doesn't make for pleasant goings the next day, when you can't be bothered to do anything.
I suspect thedoctorandmartha has felt grotty today if he or she has stayed up all night. Closing the thread would merely be an assistance to the irradication of their insomnia!
I thought Moon had been rapidly withdrawn for being too solemn or something, as I thought it was the main ident that was to be used for news bulletins (Kites has been used into all the news bulletins I've seen today)... but as it was used into Jane Eyre, I was wrong!
