We don't normally get titles at the end of the programme. I'm guessing the presenter wouldn't be able to be counted out of the programme, so they just ran them instead, knowing full well they'd get cut off at some point.

I'm guessing the Sheffield Live promos are played out by comux, and I'm not sure Sheffield Live have heard of back timing.

Its like they're always caught off guard! That crash from the weather to Talking Sheffield could have be easily given leeway with a promo or ident and the classic 'sh*t, we're on air turn the fader up'.

I'm really surprised that we haven't yet been treated to screen grabs or video clips of idents, news programming, etc for Made in Bristol. The complete lack of apparent interest makes me fear that it's possibly a total damp squib. Made in Cardiff launches tomorrow. Let's hope the Welsh are better at getting clips on here! Razz

Yes, I'd like to see if there is anyone else out there setting the bar quite as low as Sheffield Live.

I'm not sure the bar goes much lower without constantly falling off air.

What happened there? My stream froze, and now it's come back with the video I recorded two weeks ago?

This is from last week (but could have been from tonight or any night); the 7pm news update (scheduled just after the news finishes and presented with no awareness of tone), the weather forecast, the start of the titles for Talking Sheffield - a show that, ironically, starts in total silence and only marginally improves from there.

To me, it seems they're just reading straight from press releases rather than re-scripting them for speech. Utterly lazy.

There's no emphasis on the right words for the audience to hear the story properly. There's also loads of subclauses causing the presenter to struggle with delivery.

I know the presentation is stale - but if the presenter exerted more energy on delivery it would certainly make things a little more bearable.

I wonder how their "Head of News" is coping with these items from the job description advert?
Quote:
6. To maintain good relations with BBC local and regional news managers and to ensure SLTV meets its targets for the delivery of diary stories on a daily basis to the BBC region.
7. To seek out other opportunities for news story syndication and revenue generation.

I can't imagine Look North wanting to take any of the reports that have made it to air. Or anybody else...
