No date announced, which is odd because STV2 already closed and we know Estuary will close on Friday and be immediately replaced by a That's channel on Saturday. There's nothing to stop them from having That's Scotland on air already.

Surely, not having facilities and staff set-up would stop them from coming on air...

If they have that stuff for Yorks and Lincs they should have it for Scotland already, they acquired those licences a few weeks earlier.

They could just relay another That’s channel and hope no-one notices. Wouldn’t be the first time. Wink

I wonder what name they’ll opt for. The “We are excited to be launching That’s TV in North Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire this autumn“ in the press release doesn’t give much away. I can’t imagine the viewers (all five of them) being happy if they decide to use the dreaded “H” word, given the widespread dislike of the term “Humberside”, but it seems like the only option.

That's Humber would seem slightly safer than Humberside.

The river still exists, after all.

That's anywhere except Hull, East Riding and North Lincs?

The new name for Estuary TV is...... That's Humber.

So Estuary TV went off air on 31/08/18 and the That's Humber service has yet to start. Just a holding slide. When Thats TV take over do they usually leave a period of dead air before the new service starts ?

Doesn't seem to have stopped other That's channels coming on air :-p

I was wondering what had happened. So much for the optimistic messages implying the station would just continue as normal through the change...

Yes, it's perfectly normal for this to happen. That's TV Norfolk sneaked on-air about a month after Mustard TV closed.

A reminder of what Estuary said of the That's TV takeover:
Quote:
This will create new opportunities for local advertisers to reach even more viewers

Yeah, right...

They do realise that being off air for ANY period of time will cause them to lose the audience?
