I've heard of SIXTV - The Oxford Channel which is a local channel for Oxfordshire and I'm just wondering if there are any more dotted around the UK?

(London Channel etc.)

There's one up where I live, but you have to specially tune your TV to pick up the reception. Can't remember what it's called tho!

I can get Lanarkshire Television but its not a very good picture (a bit like what Channel 5 was like at the start) a lot of the time they just show Sky News

In my professional capacity <work - yawn> I have just quoted Dundee (Scotland) Channel 6 for black studio drpaes. One can only assume they either are live or about to go live.

yes, does it run by the same poeple

SixTV have:

Local Paper Reviews
Local News
National News from ITN News Channel
Film Reviews
And they used to have a funny cartoon on all the time
etc.

Do the rest have these, are they professional?

Wonder wwhat these channels will do when every1 turns digital?

Any The Oxford Channel say they were the first one, wonder why The London Channel dosn't exist... as it has thebiggest audience

Are the other local channels also on Channel 47?

Think of how much it would cost for a licence to broadcast to London.

I don't think a London Channel is necessary when you have BBC LDN and London Tonight news programmes, which are essentially for the capital. It would be difficult

That's it! It's Lanarkshire television we get. I havn't seen it ever, so I couldn't comment on what it's like!

yes, costly but more viewers more ads more money.

I reckon they could still make a profit... If you think how many radio stations are in Lonodon

I had a letter downstairs about it, telling you how to tune into it, but I don't know where it went! But what I will do for you is have a good look around, and let you know if I find anything!Smile

Just trying searching through the tunning, I can get it on some televisions but other I cant, I think it may be down to how accurate you can tune the channel as its not got very good signal strength
